Adults only on the Lady Enid

Lady Enid is a classic timber ketch that takes no more than 24 adults to Hill Inlet, Whitehaven and a snorkel stop, then sails back to Airlie Beach at sunset. Pick it for a quiet, grown-up day with cheese and bubbles, not for speed.

Lady Enid: Adults-Only Whitehaven Sail

About this experience

Iconic Whitsunday Adventures sails the Lady Enid, a classic timber ketch, from Coral Sea Marina. The group is capped at 24 and nobody under 18 comes aboard. Hotel transfers are included; if you make your own way, meet at 7:40 am on the carpark side of The Garden Bar & Bistro. Everyone signs a waiver before travel.

The day takes in the walk to the Hill Inlet lookout, time on Whitehaven (Tourism Whitsundays also lists Betty's Beach, a sheltered cove at the north end) and a snorkel stop of about 40 minutes. The tides set the order. Food is the other draw: morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, a fruit platter, antipasto and cheese, and a glass of sparkling wine. Extra drinks come from the bar. You finish with a sail back to Airlie Beach as the sun goes down.

It's a sailing boat, not a fast one, and the listing runs to 10 hours. It isn't for people with limited mobility, wheelchair users, cruise ship passengers or anyone prone to seasickness. Stinger suits are supplied in season; there are no wetsuits. Travelling with children? The Camira sail takes kids from 4.
